Standards Development Organisation (SDO) at SCIC
SPRING Singapore, the National Standards Body (NSB) in charge of the National Standardisation Programme, has appointed SCIC to manage the Chemical Standards Committee with effect from April 2011.
The Standards Development Organisation (SDO) at SCIC was set up to administer the national standardisation programme for the chemical and chemical-related industry under the Singapore Standards Council administered by SPRING Singapore.
SCIC, identified as the key association representing the chemical industry in Singapore, is honoured to take on the role of the SDO to manage the Chemicals Standards Committee (CSC) under the Standards Council. The CSC undertakes the development and promotion as well as encourage the implementation of standards relating to the Chemical Industry.
The CSC covers not only the development of national standards but also Singapore’s participation in International Standards development for the chemical industry.
SDO@SCIC supports and works closely with the Chemical Standards Committee (CSC) and its 23 committees which currently manages 114 Singapore Standards and participates actively in 3 international standards committees with observer status in 12 international standards committees.
